It seems innocent enough but what does it really mean?
Usually, it’s not intended as praise – more often, it seems like a criticism- an expression of annoyance that you no longer fit into the small box they had you in.
Change can feel scary but I want you to know that change is essential to your growth and actualisation– Fighting change will cause you pain and suffering. Contrary to what we often think, letting go of previously held beliefs and ideas is a liberating and beautiful thing. But first, it requires us to step outside of our comfort zone. All great changes are proceeded by chaos.
You are not alone
I have gone through a profound change in the past 18 months. It has been at times disorienting because I no longer relate to many of the touchstones I used to rely on to navigate my life (EG: external validation, people’s opinions of me, needing to please others). I feel I took a running leap off a cliff and I am now steering by feel. It has felt at times mind-blowingly scary but with the right guides in my corner, the freedom has been exhilarating.
Understandably, my clients often struggle with the feeling of changing and growing- we are taught to value consistency, dependability and stability in relationships and business. So how does change fit in with that?
My experience is that we need to understand what is motivating the change. Is it an overflow of internal growth or are you changing to try and conform?

If you want business growth, milestones and achievements- it is not possible without personal change. Building a brand or a professional reputation where there is no room for change will ultimately stifle your success or rob you of the satisfaction of what you do achieve.
I have decided that my brand, my business, my relationships and my self-expression will be defined by my own internal compass and that means an ever-evolving, ever-expanding reality.
